About the project
General Description
ST4ADU (Sustainable Tourism Skills for Adult Learners) is a two-year Erasmus+ KA210-ADU project that aims to strengthen sustainable tourism skills among adult learners, particularly those facing social or economic barriers. The project brings together partners from Greece, Spain and Italy to develop accessible learning pathways, promote responsible tourism practices, and support environmental and social sustainability in Mediterranean island regions.
Through international cooperation, the project will create practical learning materials, implement local workshops, and explore good practices in sustainable tourism. Special emphasis is placed on empowering learners with fewer opportunities, including migrants, refugees, women, and individuals living in remote island areas, enabling them to improve their employability and actively participate in local development. The project also supports educators by offering professional training and tools to strengthen inclusive, sustainability-focused adult education.
Project Objectives
Enhance Employability & Social Inclusion
The project equips adult learners with theoretical and practical knowledge in sustainable tourism, helping them develop skills relevant to the local labour market. It also provides guidance to help learners apply new competences and access job opportunities in the tourism sector.
(Linked to SDG 4 & SDG 8)
Promote Sustainable & Responsible Tourism Practices
Participants develop skills in environmental conservation, cultural preservation and eco-friendly tourism approaches. The project encourages responsible interaction with natural and cultural resources and supports long-term sustainability in island destinations.
(Linked to SDG 13)
Support Vulnerable & Marginalised Groups
The project fosters an inclusive learning environment that helps migrants, refugees and women overcome educational barriers. Through mapping, feedback collection and adaptable learning materials, the project ensures relevance to diverse cultural and socio-economic contexts.
(Linked to SDG 5 & SDG 10)
Strengthen International Cooperation & Knowledge Exchange
By connecting organizations from three Mediterranean countries, the project encourages cross-border collaboration, shared best practices and wider dissemination of results across Europe.
